MASTER
The Master in Translational Biomedical Research is an official master’s degree that aims to generate excellent researchers with the necessary combination of scientific and medical knowledge and skills to contribute successfully to the future of translational medical research.
The main feature of this master programme is that takes place in a research institute recognized as Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, an organism depending of the Spanish Government. All the classes will be given at VHIR by basic, clinical researchers and medical doctors who are in continuous contact with patients.
This master will provide the students with the necessary knowledge to transform the theoretical knowledge from basic research into clinical applications, treatments and better diagnostic methods that bring a benefit in people's health. At the end of the course students must be able to understand the methodological, regulatory, logistical and ethical aspects of translational and clinical research; to design experiments; to identify the opportunities to transfer results to industry and to acquire strong knowledge and critical vision of the main challenges faced by medical researchers.
The master is addressed to research career, provides access to PhD studies and brings students the opportunity to choose the area or biomedicine in which they want to specialize and develop their career.
The master is open to graduate students in Biology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Medicine, Nursing, Genetics, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Veterinary. Graduate students in other life and health science degrees can also access. The ideal candidate for this master should be a highly motivated student interested in research, development and innovation in the field of translational biomedical research. Candidates must have a good level of English, be able to work together in multidisciplinary teams and have creative skills and entreprenurial attitude.
